Watermelon

I don’t know if it has to do with thirst, the baby, or just the sweet taste of deliciousness, but I have not been able to get enough watermelon in the last month or so.  I crave it like nothing else.  Craaaave.  Like a ravenous beast.  Okay, maybe I’ve been reading too much vampire-o-rama, but still, I must have it.

During vacation, I wasn’t able to have any, so Sunday, when I went to the grocery store, I bought one.  I was pumped.  As soon as I got home, I cut into it only to find the worst yuck ever.  Rot.  It even smelled bad.  I could have cried, but I’m a strong, independent woman who doesn’t have time for tears, so I just stuck my bottom lip out and went straight to Husband.  Should I call the grocery store?  Waaaa Waaa Waaa.  Whine whine whine.

That baby sure gets cranky when he wants something.

Husband being the best hubby in the world went to the store for me later and got a new one plus a refund.  Thanks grocery monopoly of Charlotte.  Even though your prices are ridiculous, that was nice of you.

We just had some tonight after dinner, and it reminded me of a quote I read in O during our plane ride home.  I think it about sums up my priorities in life.

One of the nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.  –Luciano Pavarotti

Awww, sorry about the rot…but your whining was fun to read. I could eat watermelon all year long. Jason got one Sunday and we’ve not cut it yet…probably better do that before it gets the “rot”, too!!!
